军 = 冖 + 车 : As a component in other characters: a general.

Zeus is driving a car in front of the restaurant. It's a cabriolet, so he uses a cooking top to protect himself from the weather. With the cooking top on his head, he looks kinda like a weird general.

台 = 厶 + 口 : Tecumseh assumed is new post behind a counter in the airplane's kitchen. His task is to give a mandarin as a present to every visitor. Because he's allergic to mandarins he wears a fake nose so he doesn't have to smell them.

冠 = 冖 + 元 + 寸 : Gitta Giraffe (gu) is busking in front of the anthill (an1). She has a hat (冠) lying in front of her, but the hat is protected by a cooking top (冖). Many passersby give her the thumbs up (寸) or put some coins (元) into her hat.

孛 = 十 + 冖 + 子 : Beelzebub (b) wants to fry an egg (子) in the Eiffel Tower's bathroom (ei4). He breaks the egg onto a cooking top (冖) and to fry it, he summons a comet (孛) using a cross (十) he holds the other way around. The comet causes a fire on which Beelzebub fries the egg.

叠 = 冝 + 叒 : Dorothy Gale (di) finds the shelves (冝) in the elevator's kitchen (e2) are a complete mess. First she completely empties the shelves, piling up a heap of boxing gloves (叒) and another heap of cooking tops (冝). Then she proceeds to neatly layer (叠) the boxing gloves and cooking tops back into the shelves.

冘 = 儿 + 冖 : Mnemonic symbol: a treadmill.

Maud Younger (y) and Sun Wukong (儿) are exercising together in the encampment's kitchen ((e)n2). They are running on treadmills (冘) and using cooking tops (冖) to fan themselves some air.
