攵 = 𠂉 + 乂 : Mnemonic symbol: the epitome of rapping and tapping is a sledge hammer. Petra pinguin (pu) forgot her key (𠂉) and know she's locked out of the space station (Ø1). At first she tries to open the lock with pliers (乂), but in the end she has no choice but to use the sledge hammer (攵).

扑 = 卜 + 扌 : Petra penguin (p-) flaps about outside the space station's entrance (Ø1) in an attempt to throw herself at the bone with feather attached (卜). However, Penelope poodle (-u1 sound) is quicker to the prize and pounces on the bone first using her toy claw (扌). It's hard to imagine why someone would devote one's energies (扑) towards such fruitless activities. Who could forecast (卜) what would happen next?

攴 = ⺊ + 又 : Mnemonic symbol: a door knocker. Petra Penguin (pu) locked herself out of the space station (Ø1). She tries to get the others' attention by waving with a pennant (⺊) and knocking (攴) against the window with a boxing glove (又). Finally she uses a door knocker (攴) to knock on the door.
